The Wonders Of Breastfeeding...

(Click On Pictures to learn more)

There are 4,000 species of mammals, and they all make a different milk. Human milk is made for human infants and it meets all their specific nutrient needs," says Ruth Lawrence, M.D., professor of pediatrics and obstetrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, N.Y., and spokeswoman for the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Human Breastmilk...
...the perfect food for human babies. Yet breastfeeding is so much more, for mothers, babies, families, and society. Breastfeeding provides a perfect balance of nutrients, as well as developmental benefits, life time health benefits for mother and baby. The Key to breastfeeding success is knowledge, and support. The benefits to providing mothers with the current information, as well as continuous support pre pregnancy, prenatally, immediately postpartum, and beyond.

Our Survival as humans...
has depended on the success of breastfeeding for hundreds of years. Breastfeeding is a natural process, that has been handed down since our begining. Still many mothers have questions or troubles getting started. This maybe in part because so many obstacles occur that our ancestors did not have. One is that so many of our families in recent years did not breastfeed, and they are unable to assist if a question arises. Another may be that there are so many breastmilk subsitutes that are so widely advertised, that people don't have to breastfeed for survival any more. Another fact is that many health care professionals have limited knowledge of breastfeeding or have outdated information. So what's a Mother to do?
